Saturday, November 12, 2-4 PM: Book Signing and Meet-and-Greet with Author Greg Flint and Illustrator/daughter Claire Flint Last featuring the children’s book “How the World Got Better.”
How the World Got Better is a beautifully illustrated children’s picture book that urges us to be the hero of our own story. Set in a happier, more peaceful future, children gather around the fire and urge their grandparents to tell the story of how the world got better. The story unfolds of how we came together to resolve our discord and find the answer to one important question: HOW WOULD WE LIKE THIS WORLD TO BE?
Told with great heart, wisdom and longing by author Greg Flint, and beautifully illustrated by his daughter, local artist Claire Flint Last, this book could not have arrived at a better time in our human history.

Synopsis:
Around the fire one night in the not-so-distant future, a lovely old couple tells their precocious great-granddaughter what happened when the people of the world finally answered one magical question.
Warm, wise, and right on time, How the World Got Better calls to the hero in each of us to answer that same simple question.
Delightfully illustrated, designed, and published by the author’s daughter, this parable for our time combines a heartwarming bedtime story with the way it could come true.
About the Author:
Greg Flint, a lifelong artist, stonemason and working man, lives in Sandpoint, Idaho in a sweet old converted school bus. He is blessed with wonderful kids, grandkids, friends, and ever more trust in life. An old man now, he still plays with rocks and dirt and cares for trees. He walks everywhere, loves conversation, and tells stories. Flint plays a big drum and studies the human story—a form of time travel.
About the Illustrator:
Claire Flint Last has been making art ever since she could hold a crayon, and has continued into adulthood thanks to encouragement from friends and family, most especially her dad, Greg, the author of this book.
Claire resides in Eugene, Oregon with her musically gifted husband, Mike, and their daughter, Penelope “Penny” Lane (who was a constant inspiration for the character of Lil’). Claire currently divides her time between being a wife and mom, painting in her home studio, and working as a graphic designer for independent publishing company Luminare Press, designing books for authors all over the world.
