Join us for our first-ever Comedy Night at Tsunami. Hosted by Tati Jenson.

——————————————————-

Meet your host, Tati K:

The pandemic inspired her to write stand up. She was left laughing at the absurdity of the current climate thinking others probably needed some laughs too. As a creative spirit, and performance artist all her life: dancer, choreographer, actor, filmmaker, writer, singer, improv enthusiast, and spoken word artist to music, stand up seemed a natural next step to explore. Her comedy style is goofy, playful, and vulnerable focusing on subjects such as single motherhood, dating, sexism, racism, feminism, philosophy, and general social criticism. Her dream was to produce a solidarity women comic show at Tsunami Books ever since she started comedy. She noticed that there are 22+ strong women comics in Eugene. She asked to see if they would collaborate in order to make this show a reality. She is thrilled so many were able to make the date, and is sorry some had other obligations. They are missed. We are stronger together. Eugene is lucky to have this much talent. When she saw Cody Webb perform- she knew that she found the perfect Allan to join the Barbie team. She hopes more women comics get the attention they deserve in a still men dominated market. She would like to thank her comedy teachers, Lexis Sharde, and Leigh Anne Jasheway who helped her get started on this path. And many thanks to her daughter, and comedy buddy who are her biggest supporters. She is a thankful, and proud member of Radar Angels who helped her gain experience in collaborative art makings. She hopes you enjoy the show.

Meet your comedians:

AJ Havens

Until recently, AJ Havens had been doing stand-up comedy once a year for seven years, which, it turns out, is not best practice. She’s aiming for once a week now... or at least twice a year.

Bethany Grace Howe

Bethany Grace Howe is a transgender woman living in an increasingly dystopic America where she has made the conscious choice to laugh instead of cry. A decision that was less about mental health, then the realization that even in a state that is wetter than many swamps, that she was becoming increasingly dehydrated. Today, still employed by the government, she lives as a soldier of misfortune. If you need comedy, no one else can help - because you can surely find her - maybe you can hire this PhD.

Cienna Jade

Cienna Jade has been performing stand up comedy since 2015. Their style is described as harsh but oddly sweet, sardonic, and definitively dirty. They have an exquisite bathrobe and a comedy album called Pillows Though they’d rather you not listen to.

Cody Webb

Cody Webb is a triple threat: he can tell jokes, he is super high energy, and he is moderately successful on TikTok. Coming all the way from Portland, Oregon, Cody is a comedian that is completely unpredictable. On stage, at least. If he's off-stage, he's probably on his phone by himself or something. Anyways! If you like jokes that are equal parts smart and very, very stupid, Cody is your man*. You can follow him on all platforms @TheRealCodyWebb and in real life if you know where to look.

Diana Ramsey

Diana Ramsey is a Eugene-based Stand-Up Comic and her life is the very definition of Well-Traveled. Diana Ramsey was born in Germany and has lived in The South, New York City, Chicago, Wyoming, Germany, South Korea and California before settling in Oregon in June of 2022. Diana Ramsey produces a successful LGBTQIA+ Comedy Show called "Out At Night" that has brought Queer comedy to rural areas. Diana Ramsey is nothing short of a Force of Nature onstage, her fiery presence and material is not for the easily offended, but Diana Ramsey always delivers the goods and energy when on that comedy stage.

Emma Lee

Emma Lee is a grad school comedian who laughs not to cry. Born in Florida she got lost looking for her car at Magic Kingdom and ended up on stage in Eugene. In her free time Emma likes to nap, have snacks, and wander aimlessly eating a piece of cheese. With a laidback deadpan performance style her comedy delights audiences young and old alike. Find her on Instagram @emmayuck

Jamie Colson

Jamie Colson is a comedian in Eugene, Oregon who loves to entertain her friends. Jamie loves to talk on stage about her missing IUD & Band Camp memories. Jamie considers herself a mix of Weird Barbie & Mermaid Barbie. When she’s not performing comedy, she can be found singing karaoke, escaping to the coast to find pretty lil rocks, or making TikToks about her leg hair. She has been featured on stages in NYC, Seattle, and all throughout Oregon. Jamie also regularly produces shows in Eugene, OR. Find her on TikTok & Instagram @Jamie_tells_jokes

Jane Delight

At the age of 7 and for the next 10 years, Jane, was the comedian for her adolescent girl group, four girls in total. They even critiqued Jane to keep her game up. Jane has been a lifelong student of comedy: what makes people laugh or not laugh? Jane studied acting at the New York Academy of Dramatic Arts in NYC. Left NYC for LA to New Mexico and finally to Oregon. After long hiatus returned to performing via voice over, then return to acting and stand up comedy. She is currently involved with OCT, Shakespeare Readers Group and VLTs Readers Group.

Leigh Anne Jasheway

Leigh Anne Jasheway spent her childhood reading Edgar Alan Poe and Sylvia Plath, so naturally she became a comedian. She's been performing, teaaching, and producing comedy for over 30 years despite telling herself she's still in her late 40s. She ran the Eugene Laff Off for 25 years and the NW Women's Comedy Festival for 16. She recently painted her home library Barbie pink and is thinking of wearing a black and white striped bathing suit the next time she goes to Saturday Market. You've been warned.

Lexis Shardé

Lexis Shardé is a Eugene native who ran away to Hollywood to become the next La La on MTV. After her first encounter with youtube trolls she took on improv to improve her hosting skills and stumbled in to stand up comedy in 2011. Her career has been so successful that she returned home in 2021 and now teaches stand up comedy classes. You can sign up in the back.

Melody Dodd

Melody Dodd was included in this show to serve as the chaperone. She’s a local fixture who’s been stepping up when other comedians can’t make it since 2011. One time she was voted the second funniest person in Eugene and has been losing ground ever since.

Nat Tandowsky

Nat Tandowsky is a meticulous musician, a wisecracking wordsmith, and an adjective noun. While she's written original music for nearly a decade, comedy is her latest (and surprisingly most lucrative) endeavor. She'll make you laugh with her witty lyricism, and cry when her songs inevitably get stuck in your head.

Penny Glass

Penny Glass was born with the gift of a silver tongue but the burden of a rabbit’s heart. Her brain is mostly what she calls her “joke vault” and she has always enjoyed all things silly, punny, tricky and hilarious. Somehow, through the absolute fear of it all Penny stumbled into an open mic one night circa 2011 and found the Eugene comedy scene, and she has been in and out ever since. Never quite serious. Never quite hiatus. But always righteously funny. When she is not aiming for over your head, Penny would like to think that her comedy style wholeheartedly aims to please, with mindful wit, graceful economy of words, and the sweet sweet unforgiving nuance of language, all wrapped up in a punchline:)

Sarah Levy

Sarah Levy was bitten by a radioactive comedian, and the rest is history. Based in Eugene, Sarah's comedy has brought joy to the hearts of nerds and gays all up and down I-5. When she isn't on stage, Sarah can be found running a convenience store for college students or watching Star Trek with her cats.

Temple "The Bard" Kirk

Temple "The Bard" Kirk is a comedian, poet, and singer/songwriter based in the Whiteaker neighborhood of Eugene, Oregon. Her history as an advocate for underserved communities informs her comedy with a pragmatic darkness, tempered with absurdist storytelling.
