The Cypress Home Duo
Percy Franklin and Sandy Holder
Intimate, original songs that tell stories about people, places and true life experiences to the accompaniment of guitars, bass, accordion, dulcimer, mandolin, concertina, banjo and vocal harmonies.
In addition to winning the 1994 Willamette Valley Folk Festival New Song Contest in Eugene, Oregon, Sandy Holder has performed in numerous Eugene Folk Alliance Concerts and has opened for several folk/Americana artists, including Claudia Schmidt, Tracey Grammar, David Roth, and Portland-based band Moody Little Sister. Sandy’s sweet and effortless voice and her poignant and personal songs explore the process of living and learning with an open heart.
Percy Franklin has been performing in the Eugene, Oregon folk scene since the mid 80’s. He was a finalist in the Willamette Valley Folk Festival New Song Contest in 1991 and performed at the Sisters Folk Festival and in several Eugene Folk Alliance concerts. Percy has also performed with The Traceys, Due Northwest, SpiritFarm, and singer/songwriter Jim Daugherty. Percy’s intimate songs tell stories about people, places, and true life experiences.
Together Sandy and Percy enrich one another’s songs with the addition of bass, duo guitar arrangements, accordion, concertina, dulcimer, mandolin and sweet harmonies. They have been performing in Eugene, Oregon as the Cypress Home duo since 2016 and have a self-titled CD available on CD Baby that is also widely available for streaming online.
