Saturday, May 21, 7-9 PM: Rona Yellow Robe, Flutist of the Year, presented by Flutestock, Oregon’s annual festival of the Native American Flute. ————————————- Rona is a two–time winner of the Native American Music Award Flutist of the Year honor, among her numerous awards. She is an enrolled member of the Chippewa Cree Tribe of Rocky Boy, MT.
After picking up her first flute in 2002, Rona has been on a musical and spiritual journey ever since. As well as performing nationally and internationally for audiences large and small, she has shared her gifts with hospice patients for 12 years.
Attendees at her May concert will experience Rona’s warm, heart-felt presence as she plays her flutes and sings, sharing music from her four award-winning albums.
Come and spend a soothing evening at Tsunami, get to know the artist, and meet some of The Flutestock Players, a group of flute players from the Flutestock community who tour locally.
Rona will return to Oregon this summer as a featured performer at Flutestock, July 15-17, at the Elkton Community Education Center in Elkton. Flutestock is free and open to the public. ————————————-
