Friday, May, 17 8 PM (7:30 door): International Spoken Word Sensation Shane Koyczan! Winner of the Individual Champion title at the National Poetry Slam and the Canadian Spoken Word Olympics, Koyczan performed his poem “We Are More” at the opening ceremony of the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics. For his social justice work, Shane has received a BC Civil Liberties Award for the Arts.
Opening for Shane is Melissa Rose Sanders (Eugene) the MC for Our Bodies Our Voices Our Open Mic at Tsunami Books. She has been a performance poet throughout the world since 2001.
